What is TeMaCC?

TeMaCC stands for "Teaching Mathematics Content Courses." Pre-service teachers take both methods courses (where they learn how to teach) and content courses (for gaining deeper knowledge of the subjects they teach). TeMaCC focuses on sharing ideas about the design and teaching of of the latter-- math content courses for future teachers.

The group started in 2014 with a one-day conference organized by mathematicians and math educators at University of Michigan Ann Arbor and University of Michigan Dearborn. While an annual one-day conference is still the backbone of what we do, we aim generally to facilitate communication and collaboration across institutions in Michigan regarding math content courses for future teachers.

We became a Special Interest Group of the Michigan Association of Mathematics Teachers Educators (MI-AMTE) in the summer of 2015.

Our members and participants come from research universities, liberal arts colleges, and two-year colleges across the state of Michigan.
